Phone Call Scam Alert
The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office is aware that scammers are making phone calls to residents in Black Hawk County about missing a court date or missing jury duty and threatening arrest and soliciting them to get Amazon cards, Apple cards, or transfer money through other payment apps. The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, nor any other law enforcement agency, will NEVER accept Apple, Amazon, or any other pay app in lieu of arrest. Please do not fall for this and as always, NEVER give personal information to a person who calls you on the phone.
