On 11/30/23 at approximately 0706 hours, Black Hawk County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a single vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Fairbank Rd and Pace Rd near Fairbank.  When deputies arrived, a Nissan Xterra was discovered on its top in the ditch with a single occupant.  The driver of the vehicle was Barbara Prunty (54) of Oran, Iowa.  Prunty was negotiating the curves near the intersection and lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway and went into the ditch.  Fairbank Fire and Ambulance responded and Prunty was trapped and had to be removed by mechanical means.  Prunty was transported by the Fairbank Ambulance to Unity Point Hospital in Waterloo with non-life threatening injuries.
